Established in 1994 to meet the increasing needs of the independent Paddlesports operators in Virginia, The Virginia Professional Paddlesports Association has a successful history of promoting both its member businesses and the industry in the Commonwealth while providing 100's of thousands of quality on-water adventures for the recreating public. With a large number of governmental and organizational partners and programs, VAPPA continues to lead the nation as a strong association that provides members with professional development, government resolution and member promotion. Beside all that VAPPA members are a proud family of businesses continuing to honor VAPPA's mission: To Preserve, Protect and Promote Virginia's Waterways.

VAPPA is recognized for
implentation of its misson
statement and receives the statewide
conservation volunteer
award from then Governor George
and First Lady Susan Allen.
Partnering with Virginia Departments of Game and Inland Fisheries and Conservation and Recreation VAPPA hosted the first ever PADDLESPORTS SYMPOSIUM which drew more than 90 attendees from the Commonwealth and four additional states.
